ADATA Technology recently released the world’s thinnest external hard drive, the ADATA DashDrive Elite HE720, that sports a USB 3.0 connectivity. Its body is made up of brushed stainless steel surface with a thickness of just 8.9mm making it the world’s thinnest external hard drive. The DashDrive Elite HE720’s brushed metal case features a protective layer that provides 9H scratch resistance and prevents damage even in long term use.
The ADATA DashDrive Elite HE720 also features a “one-touch-backup” which automatically backups and synchronizes data by pressing the button located at the front side of the drive near the bright blue LED indicator, that indicates power and data transfer status. The USB 3.0 connectivity offers faster data transfer rate at the same time it’s fully compatible with previous USB versions, like to commonly used interface today, USB 2.0.

DashDrive Elite HE720 Review
According to a test conducted by ADATA Technologies, the HE720 external hard drive produced a write speed of 107MB/s and read speed of 109 MB/s while transferring a 7.89GB file via USB 3.0. This result is a real world data transfer performance result produced by ATTO Disk Benchmark. But using a USB 2.0 interface, the average read/write transfer speeds were around 34MB/s only.
