AMD has recently unleashed the world most powerful workstation graphics line up, with the AMD FirePro W9000 Graphics Processing Unit as its flagship. According to AMD, it’s the most powerful workstation graphics card ever created. The FirePro W9000 features a 4 TFLOPS (Tera FLOPs) of single precision and 1 TFLOPs of double precision, 6GB of GDDR5 memory, and is priced at a hefty $3,999 USD.
This (almost) $4K FirePro W9000 is compatible with Supermicro SuperWorkstations and is capable of driving 6 (six) 30-inch monitor thru Multi-Stream Transport (MST) hubs for maximum workspace utilization at ultra-high resolutions of 4096×2160.
The AMD FirePro W9000 is joined by its brothers, the W8000, W7000 and W5000 that are priced at $1,599, $899 and $599 respectively. The FirePro W8000 features 3.23 TFLOPs of single precision and 806 GFLOPS of double precision with 4GB of GDDR5 memory. Followed by the FirePro W7000 with 2.4 TFLOPs single precision and 152 GFLOPs double precision, also with 4GB of RAM. And lastly we have the FirePro W5000 with 1.27 TFLOPs single precision and 80GFLOPs double precision, and with 2GB of GDDR5 memory.
