Corsair Launched 90GB and 180GB Force Series SSDs

Corsair has just launched a new addition to their award-winning Force Series™ SSD (Solid State Disk) family. The new models are F90 with a capacity of 90GB and F180 with a capacity of 180GB, and both have SATA 3.0 Gbps interfaces. These two new SSDs are class performance level and promise to deliver what enthusiasts expects from Corsair’s Force Series SSDs.

The new F90 and F180 uses the Sandforce SF-1200 SSD processor. Read Speed can go up to 285MB/s with a write speed of up to 275MB/s, with a 4K random write throughput of up to 50,000 IOPs. F90 and F180 has also TRIM command with Windows 7. This will help in maintaining the performance over the life of the drive.

Corsair F90 and F180 are available and are priced at $189.99 and $399.99 respectively.

“Corsair’s Force Series of SSDs have become extremely popular with enthusiasts and gamers, and with these two new capacities we can offer our customers greater flexibility to choose the capacity that best suits their budget,” stated Thi La, VP of Memory Products at Corsair. “The 90GB and 180GB capacities neatly fill the gaps in the current family, which now ranges from 40GB all the way to 240GB.”

Although more and more models of SSDs are being produced they are still far from being mainstreamed. SSDs are still very expensive and will take time to replace the standard HDD we used today.
