lg g flex drop test will it break

How Tough is the LG G Flex? And Will the Flexible Display Break from a Drop?

The LG G Flex is one of the first to feature a curved shape body and display. It was officially announced a few weeks ago, after Samsung has revealed the Samsung Galaxy Round. But the LG G Flex has more tricks compared to the Galaxy Round than having a curve body alone. As its name suggests, the curve body of the G Flex is really flexible and can be flatten when applied with pressure from its back. LG also boast its self-healing coating on the back of the device, where a simple scratch will literally heal and disappear after a few minutes or hours depending on the severity of the scratch mark. But what if we drop the G Flex? Will its flexible display break? Initially we would think that it would not break since it is flexible but let’s find out by watching the LG G Flex drop test video below.

Well, did you honestly think that the LG G Flex’s display will not break when dropped? Unfortunately, just like any other smartphone, the display will break after suffering from a drop. The self-healing back cover also did not survive the drop. A significant blow is just too much for the self-healing coating to heal itself. I just hope that glass manufacturers would be able to produce a glass, which not only is flexible, but also doesn’t break easily when dropped.

The LG G Flex is over all a great phone, same with its predecessor the LG G2 Pro. Another question that comes to my mind is that, will it be as exciting as it now when Samsung reveals its most anticipated Samsung Galaxy S5? Let’s just find it out in 2014.
