What makes a smartphone a genius phone?

LG Optimus 2XToday there are so many mobile phones and smartphones available in the market. But because of the so many variations, designs and models, there are things that I consider in choosing the right smartphone for me. And for a Techie person like me, a “genius phone” is definitely what I need.

So what makes a smartphone a genius phone? For a smartphone to be considered as a genius phone, it has to meet my needs as a techie person, blogger, PC enthusiast, gamer and a photo enthusiast, and that’s where the LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black comes in.

First let’s talk about the LG Optimus 2X or the LG P990, and the things that I love about it.

LG Optimus 2X NVIDIA Tegra 2The 1GHz Dual-Core Processor
I love fast computers, and for a smartphone to have a 1GHz Dual-Core processor has definitely captured my attention. A 1GHz dual-core processor is essential in multi-tasking. With these, I can run multiple applications at the same time without having a problem in performance. I can open multiple applications and easily switch from one app to another. I can play music at the background while surfing the internet and open multiple sites at the same time, and then switching to another applications, or do messaging, or answer a phone call without any hassle.

LG Optimus 2X 8MP cameraThe 8MP Camera and HD Video Recording
Thanks to LG Optimus 2X’s 8 Megapixel and HD video recording, there are no moments that are not captured or documented. Wherever I go or whenever I need a camera, I can get some high quality photos and/or high definition videos, connect to the internet and blog about what I just saw instantly. I don’t have to wait to go home before I can blog about a particular topic. I can do it right on the spot (where Wi-Fi connection is available) and it’s very advantageous if your the first to blog about a particular event or topic.

Also, with this feature, I can capture moments without having a need for an expensive digital camera. ^_^

The Content Mirroring Through HDMI Interface
Don’t you just hate it when you can’t enlarge something what you see in your phones? Thanks through this ingenious feature I can now clearly see and hit those pigs (in Angry Birds) in one shot through connecting the Optimus 2X to my 23″ LCD monitor through an HDMI interface. So watch out piggies and zombies! HAHAHA! Playing games in smartphones would never be the same again.

LG Optimus 2X HDMI Connectivity

Not only you can “enlarge” your gaming experience but you can also watch movies and view photos to your big screens. Isn’t that genius?

NVIDIA is behind Tegra 2, and every gamer knows that NVIDIA is the leading expert when it comes to gaming and producing top of the line graphic cards and GPUs. Because of the dedicated GPU, playing games like Need for Speed Shift and other HD games smoothly is what I am thrilled about. Plus the fact that it has motion sensors, and the ability to connect it to an LCD/LED monitor, playing games in smartphones is ingeniously redefined.

The Operating System
Now this is another thing that I consider. Because it runs on an Andriod 2.2 Froyo OS, I can have access to hundreds of free applications and games. And as a PC Enthusiast it really revs me up when there is something new. With LG Optimus 2X’s OS, I do not have to worry about getting left behind. The system is upgradable to Gingerbread.

Android Froyo to Android Gingerbread

The High Definition Virtual Surround Sound
Now everybody loves music. I have not meet a person who does not love music, yet. This is the first smartphone to have a 7.1 multi-channel virtual surround sound. I just love listening to high quality music. And I don’t have to explain this further. I mean who would not want to listen to a great music in a crisp and clear output?

And another great thing about LG Optimus 2X, is that it can do everything what other smartphones (including the popular but expensive) can do plus it has a better price compared to others.

Other features like high speed internet connectivity, 4 inch display, slim dimensions, front camera for video calls, DLNA connectivity and storage capacity are all a plus factor too.

All the features and specifications that I need can be found in LG Optimus 2X. I mean, there is no feature in this phone that would probably go to waste. This is a really good investment for me.

After I have got one of these in my hands, I could never imagine what life is without an LG Optimus 2X again… ^_^

LG Optimus Black P970Now, let’s talk about it’s little brother the LG Optimus Black or LG P970. It is said that the LG Optimus Black has the world’s brightest Nova Display. We’ll that’s definitely true. Even if it’s not pack with the same muscle power like it’s big brother LG Optimus 2X, there are also tons of great features that I like about Optimus Black.

The NOVA Display
Because of the 700 nits NOVA Display, this makes this phone more energy-efficient and the brightest display ever, and I just love bright display. It helps me appreciate the image or the display better. Specially when you are outdoor and the sun is bright, I do not need to find a shade just to properly view the display. And Oh, this is also helpful when there is a black out. ^_^

The Wi-Fi Direct
Now direct connection (like peer to peer) has landed in smartphones at last. With this feature I can connect to other Wi-Fi Direct-enabled smartphones without having a need for an access point. It’s like connecting to another phone through Infra-Red or Bluetooth except that it’s way faster adn easier.

The G button and Gesture UI
This is something new. There is a tiny button with a letter G imprinted on it that let’s you easily maneuver and go through around the phone’s interface. Holding the G button while doing gesture, like shaking the phone or tilting it, will execute a particular command or action. I haven’t tried the G button personally but I think it’s a cool new and innovative feature and I’m very much curious to try it.

LG Optimus Black Slim DesignThe Design
What more can I say? The LG Optimus Black comes with an elegant monolithic, light-weight and slim design. This make the phone simple yet professional looking. Another ingenious feature incorporated in the phone.

Even if the Optimus Black has only a 1GHz processor, still, it can do multi-tasking and most of the job that it’s big brother Optimus 2X can do. I could still capture quality photos and images, surf the net, blog, listen to music and much much more.

The features present in LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black are unique, powerful and very useful and because of these features, it made both Optimus phones not just your typical smartphones, but “genius phones”!

Combine this phone together and you get a super-duper genius phone and having this phone together makes the user a super-duper genius LG Optimus user! ^_^
