Samsung Series 9 Premium Features

Like I said earlier, the Samsung Series 9 Premium Ultrabook is amazingly super-slim at only 0.51-inch thin. It’s also only 2.55 lbps making it easier to carry around. The chassis is also sand-blasted making it fingerprint resistant and maintaining the pristine look at all times.

It’s also built with a beautiful 1080p HD display with SuperBright Plus (300 nits) technology. This means you can use this ultrabook indoors and outdoors, without worrying about the lighting conditions. The display can produce up to 16 millions colors which is great for photos and videos.

Under its hood, it’s powered by a third generation Intel Core i7-3537U Processor clocked at 2.0GHz and can be increased up to 3.1GHz via Max Turbo Frequency. Not only that, boot up time and wake up time are significantly reduced thanks to the 128GB solid state drive. Solid State Drives, even though lesser in storage capacity, are better and significantly faster than a hard drive.

Price and Where to buy

The Samsung Series 9 NP900X3E-A02US 13.3-inch Premium Ultrabook has a manufacture suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,399.99. But some sellers might sell it for a lesser price. This item is now available and you can actually order one now.

Some people are saying that this is an overpriced Ultrabook and can’t play games. Well it can, but not something like Crysis 3 or similar demanding games. If you are comparing it to other laptops in the market with similar specs or capability, this might seem to be overpriced. But if you look at Asus Zenbook Prime Ultrabooks or Apple MacBook Pro, they are also priced similarly to the Series 9 Premium, and some models even priced higher.

You also need to put into consideration the thinness and the lightness of this Ultrabook, not to mention the features that you won’t experience on other laptops. It’s just 0.51 thick and weighs 2.55 lbs. Well you can get cheaper laptops if you don’t mind carrying more than 1 Kilo that is.

This machine is designed for convenience and productivity, and not for gaming purposes. If you are looking for a gaming laptop, better go for Asus ROG G75VW gaming laptop, or an MSI GT70, or a Razer Blade gaming laptop. But ironically, if price matters to you, these are much more expensive than the Samsung Series 9 Premium Ultrabook.

Why not touchscreen? Even though the Samsung Series 9 NP900X3E-A02US is running on Windows 8, Samsung decided not to make its display a touchscreen. Although mobile devices with touchscreens might seem to be the trend, some people still prefer the good old laptop with better display, instead of a touchscreen. If you want a laptop with touchscreen display, optimized for Windows 8, better get the Asus VivoBook S550 instead.
