2. A PC running on Windows
3. Install Samsung Kies in your PC or USB Drivers for Galaxy Note 10.1
4. Enable USB debugging mode located at the Application Settings on your device
5. If you have installed an anti-virus on your tablet, disable it and other security apps. You should also disable Kies from your PC.
6. Download ClockWordMod Recovery Package including the Root files here.
7. VERY IMPORTANAT! Backup everything in your Galaxy Note 10.1, these includes contacts, messages, data, etc. Basically everything that is important. You would not want to loose your data if something went wrong.

How to Install ClockWorkMod Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

First step is to install or flash the downloaded ClockworkMod Recovery to Galaxy Note 10.1:

8. If the message “Added” did not appear there is something wrong with your drivers or your PC could not detect your tablet. Try doing it again or reinstalling the drivers.

9. Click start button on Odin to start flashing. A message saying that it is safe to disconnect your tablet from your PC should appear.

          1. i have tried a few times and i get the same errors… iam on the 4,1,2 could this be the reason why this ain’t working for me? if iam doing it on the tablet with CWM it just gives me a other error and says that it cant be done?

  4. Hi, I have the same problem as maanvol and AJ. I have tried downloading the file 3 times and gives me the same two error msg’s. Any other suggestions on how to fix this?

    1. Please use CWM or ClockWorkMod recovery, and not the default Android recovery to fix this.

  5. Does not root for android 4.1.2 and build number xxucma5. Boot into CWM select CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip goes through the motion without any problems. Reboot then a just before the device finishes booting a message appears updating apps. No SU access tested with Root checker and Avast Anti-theft installer rooted. Prior to the latest 8010 firmware update ma5 device was rooted. Tried this method and cf-auto both fail.

  13. If you want to enter CWM recovery the easiest way just download terminal emulator from the play store. Open terminal emulator and type su, then press enter. This will tell terminal that you want su root access. Next type reboot recovery and press enter. The tablet will reboot to CWM recovery.
