A few days ago I posted an article regarding CNN’s pick on the best video games for 2010. This time, I will share to you the most pirated video games of 2010. These most pirated games are more likely to be the more popular ones and the “in-demand” games of 2010.
Undoubtedly, Call of Duty Black Ops is one of the most popular and successful games of 2010. Within just a few months from it’s release it has already sold millions of copies world wide. While it is one of the most popular games of 2010, unfortunately it is also the most downloaded and pirated video game of 2010. Call of Duty Black Ops has been illegally downloaded 4,270,000 times in torrent sites.
This statistics was gathered by the most trusted site in terms of torrents, torrentfreak.com. As you can see in the table below Black Ops has been downloaded over 4 million times, followed by Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mafia 2, Mass Effect 2 and Starcraft II.
Game companies has been loosing a lot of money because of these. Despite the efforts to fight piracy, hackers are giving game companies a hard time on securing and preventing their video games from being pirated.
