Nikon has also made a red kit for their Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera
Nikon has surprisingly released a red version of their Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera. At first it was just a rumor, because it seems to be far fetch for Nikon to be doing this. But it turns out to be true! News about the Nikon D3100 Red kit instantly spread like fire across the net.

It seems that there are no new features or additional specifications for the Red Nikon D3100, except that it’s color red. The red version of D3100 is reported to be only available in Europe and Japan only. Well, I hope not. Some Nikon lovers are also tired of same old professional black look and might want to spice up their DSLR with new colors.
The Nikon D3100 red kit is priced at 599 EUR and is reported to be available exclusively on amazon.de. The released date for the red D3100 is expected to be on September 22, 2011 and will be released in Japan after a few days.

The Red Nikon D3100 specifications are most probably the same with its black version. It also features a 14.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor. Since the D3100 is an entry level DSLR, I guess Nikon wants to attract newbie photographers to buy their D3100 by making their unit look more attractive.
