After weeks of rumors, leaked PCB and layout pictures, finally we have a first look at the new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680. It has the typical “NVIDIA GeForce-look” but with some revisions. The GeForce GTX 680 is the first graphics card to be powered by the new Kepler chips that comes with bigger muscles for graphics processing.
The kepler-based card has a black PCB. Its back (or behind) is fully covered. It’s a dual slot graphics card and a single fan cooler. Noticeably on the side is a two 6-pin PCIe power plugs stacked together. It has a SLI connecters and has four display ouputs (HDMI, DisplayPort and two DVI).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Specifications
As for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 specs, the GTX 680 is built with one GK104 28nm chip. It has 1536 CUDA Cores and a memory interface of 256-bit. It has 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM and a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 190W. The GeForce GTX 680 is also PCI-Express 3.0 compliant.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Price and Release Date
The GeForce GTX 680 price is rumored to be around $549 USD. Most probably we will expect a price change in other models like the GTX 500 series. This card is expected to be launched on March 22, 2012.
