How to Flash the Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 Firmwares
WARNING: Before flashing your current or existing ROM/Firmware, make sure to do a full backup! This process might lead to data loss.
- Downloaded the firmware of your choice above
- After you have downloaded the file, unzip it, it should contain 3 files
- download Odin3 here
- Make sure that Kies is not running
- Make sure your Samsung Galaxy Y is not connected to your computer
- Turn off your Samsung Galaxy Y
- After it has fully turned off, press Volume minus, home button and power button at the same time
- Wait for the Galaxy Y logo to appear before releasing the three buttons
- You will enter Odin mode, just press volume up to continue
- Run Odin3
- In Odin3 choose the appropriate file: PDA=PDA_xxxx.tar, PHONE=MODEM_ or PHONE_xxxxx.tar, CSC=CSC_xxxxx.tar (the one that you have unzip earlier)
- Do not change the other fields
- Now connect your Galaxy Y to your PC while in Odin mode
- You should be able to see a yellow 0:[COMxx] and an “Added” in the message box of Odin3
- Now click START to start flashing
- Just wait until the flashing is done.
- The Odin3 should display a green PASS
- Your Galaxy Y will reboot automatically
- Just wait until it finishes
- And you’re done! Congrats!
What to do if something went wrong or it freezes?
- Disconnect your Galaxy Y from your Computer
- Remove the battery
- Insert the battery back
- Press Volume up, Home button and Power button at the same time
- Wait for the Galaxy Y logo to appear before releasing
- You will enter Recovery mode
- Select wipe data/factory reset
- Confirm data/factory reset
- Select system reboot
- Repeat the process above
