Cooler Master has recently released the CM Storm QuickFire XT, a full sized mechanical gaming keyboard that comes with 104 keys in various Cherry MX switches. The QuickFire XT is like the big brother of the QuickFire Rapid, or QuickFire Stealth (minus the letters on the keycaps). The CM Storm QuickFire XT features a smooth and clean aesthetic, laser-marked keycaps and a non-glossy matte finish. This is complemented by a set of extra keycaps (includes a key puller) that give the keyboard, and its user, a bit of individuality that provides a striking outlook.
Armed with a response time of 1ms, in USB mode, the CM Storm Quick Fire XT offers gamers a necessary consistency to navigate the ever changing landscapes of their video game libraries. The Windows Key is disabled while in Game mode to avoid accidental minimizing of the game.
Like its predecessors, the CM Storm QuickFire XT features multimedia shortcuts to ensure that media can be controlled with ease. With N Key Rollover (NKRO), users deploying the QuickFire XT in PS/2 mode can activate many keys on the keyboard simultaneously.
I have used and reviewed several Cooler Master mechanical gaming keyboards already, like the CM Storm Trigger, Quick Fire Pro and QuickFire Rapid. I can say that all of them are great mechanical gaming keyboards in general, specially the CM Storm Trigger. Not to mention, they are also cheaper compared to other mechanical gaming keyboard out there that also offers the same features and functions. I’m currently using a different brand of mechanical keyboard, but if given the chance I’ll go back to CM Storm’s lineup.
