A first look at Sony Ericsson’s First Dual Core Smartphone: Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo
Dual-core smartphones are getting very popular these days. From LG Optimus 2X, HTC Sensation, Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 and now (perhaps could be the next) Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo. Xperia Duo would be the first dual core android-based smartphone from Sony Ericsson.
The leaked picture below is believed to be Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo. Although Sony Ericsson has not made any statement or announcement about the said dual-core smartphone. We still can’t be too sure enough if the picture of “Xperia Duo” below is the real thing.
Xperia Duo could be the next flagship smartphone of Sony Ericsson and would probably compete with the other dual-core smartphones out there. Based on the picture above, Xperia Duo would have a larger screen with an almost edge-less design. Perhaps Sony Ericsson would have a resolution of qHD 960×540 pixels.
Based on Sony Ericsson’s current lineup of smartphones (and speculations), Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo might be using Qualcomm’s MSM8260 as its processor. Aside from having a larger display, maybe 4.5 inch, Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo may have a front facing camera too. To bad Xperia Arc has no front facing camera.
Hopefully, weeks from now or perhaps a month, we would have more information about the said upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo. It’s time for Sony Ericsson to have a dual core smartphone to keep up with the competition. I wonder what took Sony Ericsson long enough to produce their first ever dual-core smartphone.
