Sharp SH-06D NERV Edition Smartphone: Must see for Evangelion Fans!

Sharp has decided to make one of its Android smartphone themed after the popular Anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The smartphone is called Sharp SH-06D NERV Edition and this will come out on NTT Docomo.
I have been an Evangelion fan for so long now, and in fact these was one of the first Anime I watch which made me an Anime Fanatic. I was surprised to see the NERV’s logo on a smartphone. Evangelion fans out there, this is a must see and must have android smartphone.
The Sharp SH-06D NERV Edition will be released this June 2012, in line with the newest Rebuild of Evangelion, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. This is the third part of the rebuilt I have been waiting for years now.
If you look closely at the Sharp SH-06D NERV edition’s picture above (and if you have watch Evangelion before), the phone truly reflects the world of Evangelion. It looks and feels like a NERV’s military equipment or device. The NERV’s logo is also noticeable on the back of the SH-06D.
The Sharp SH-06D NERV edition UI elements and built-in contents are created by Hideaki Anno’s Khara Studio. Aside from that, the phone features a 4.5-inch 720p display, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
There are no information yet regarding the Sharp SH-06D NERV edition price or release date. But this special edition (also limited in terms of quantity), will be showcased this coming Anime Expo 2012 on March 31 and April 1 at the NOTTV booth in Makuhari Messe, Japan.
I hope I can get one of these NERV-issued smartphone! And I wonder when will they start making Gundam-inspired smartphone. ^_^
