AMD has previously revealed some of the graphics card that belongs to their Radeon HD 7000 series, right before NVIDIA has revealed its GeForce GTX 680 graphics card. Now information regarding AMD’s flagship, the AMD Radeon HD 7990 specifications has surfaced.
The AMD Radeon HD 7990 is codenamed New Zealand, and it’s a dual GPU graphics card based on Tahiti chips. According to reports it will be officially revealed in April, close to the official launch date of GTX 680. INPAI has managed to provide us some Radeon HD 7990 specifications prior to its official unveiling.
Basically, the AMD Radeon HD 7990 is like two Tahiti chips, specifically two Radeon HD 7970 graphics card with a reduced clock speed, “CrossFired” them together on a single PCB. Check out the Radeon HD 7990 specifications revealed below.
AMD Radeon HD 7990 Specifications
According to INPAI, the Radeon HD 7990 specifications reveals that its core is clock at 850MHz and its memory is clock at 1250MHz with a 5.00GHz effectiveness.
The Radeon HD 7990 has a total memory of 6GB GDDR5, 3GB per GPU. It has a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. It has 4096 SP (Stream Processors) and a total of 256 TMU.
As of the moment, the price for Radeon HD 7990 is not yet disclosed. But most probably the Radeon HD 7990 price will be 1.5x of 1.75x higher than the HD 7970.
The AMD Radeon HD 7990 will be competing with NVIDIA’s dual GK104 graphics card, GeForce GTX 690, when it is released. As like its predecessor the Radeon HD 7970 will be competing with GeForce GTX 680.
