AMD Radeon HD 7800 and NVIDIA Kepler launch date revealed

AMD Radeon HD 7800 series graphics cards are set to launch this coming March 2012. The HD7800 series includes performance level graphics cards namely Radeon HD 7870 and Radeon HD 7850. The two performance graphics cards are based on the latest 28nm ASIC a.k.a. “Pitcairn”. So far, there are no information about the AMD Radeon HD 7870 or HD 7850 specifications yet.

AMD is also planning to launch its high end level graphics card this year, the Radeon HD 7990 codenamed “New Zealand”. But with regards to the exact launch or release date, there’s no information yet.

Meanwhile, NVIDIA is also planning to unleash its arsenal of graphics cards this coming April 2012. These include NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690, GeForce GTX 660, and GeForce GTX 640. These graphics cards are built with 28nm chips codenamed “Kepler”; the GK110, GK104 and GK106, respectively.

The GeForce GTX 690 will be their high end level graphics card, followed by GTX 660 in the performance level and GTX 640 for their mainstream level. Specifications regarding the three “Kepler” NVIDIA graphics card are yet to be disclosed.
