Asus Transformer Prime TF700T vs TF201 vs TF101

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet series are one of the most successful Android tablets currently in the market. The Asus Transformer TF101 was first released months ago, followed by Asus Transformer Prime TF201 featuring NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 quad core processor which was released recently. And the upcoming Asus Transformer Prime TF700T, an improved version of its predecessor which was recently announced at the CES 2012, and is expected to be released sometime in the third quarter of 2012.

I was not able to complete the Asus Transformer Prime TF700T specifications and features since it is still an upcoming device. Only few information had been disclosed regarding the upcoming Transformer Prime TF700T.

Basically, the three Asus Eee Pad Transformer looks similarly the same but their processing capability and other features are not the same. Let’s take a look at the major improvements in the specifications from the first Asus Transformer tablet up to the upcoming Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700T.

The Processing Power

One of the major changes in the Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablet is the processor. The first Asus Transformer TF101 is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 dual core processor with a speed of only 1GHz. But the Asus Transformer Prime TF201 and the upcoming Transformer Prime TF700T is powered by NVIDIA’s latest Tegra 3 quad core processor. Giving more room for multitasking and entertainment.

The Display

The display has also been improved from one model to another. The Transformer TF101 had a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. The technology used was only a LED-backlit IPS LCD and a scratch resistant screen. In Transformer Prime TF201, a Super IPS+ LCD was used paired with Corning Gorilla Glass. And finally in Transformer Prime TF700T, the resolution was further improved from 1280×800 to 1920 x 1200, giving it a HD display.

Camera

The rear camera was improved from 5 megapixel (2592×1944 pixels) camera to 8 megapixel (3264×2448 pixels) camera with a large aperture size of f2.4. Front camera is also improved from 1.2 megapixels to 2 megapixels in the upcoming Transformer Prime TF700T.

Storage Capacity

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 had only a 16GB and a 32GB variation. Storage capacity was improved in Transformer Prime TF201 and TF700T to 32GB and 64GB variant.

Battery Life

Battery life is improved from up to 9 hours of usage to up to 12 hours.

Currently, there are no definite information yet regarding Asus Transformer Prime TF700T’s price. But the release date is said to be on the third quarter or Q3 of 2012. Whereas for the Asus Transformer TF101 and Transformer TF201, you can check the prices and availability below.
