Samsung Galaxy Y Duos Price, Specification and Release Date Philippines
Published on January 21st, 2012
Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is one of the awaited entry level Android smartphone here in the Philippines. Its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 is very popular nowadays because of its affordability.
Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is an improved version of Samsung Galaxy Y. Not only that, it features a dual SIM functionality. It also has a 3 megapixel camera compared to Galaxy Y.
If you want to compare the difference between Samsung Galaxy Y and Samsung Galaxy Y Duos, check my article Samsung Galaxy Y vs Samsung Galaxy Y Duos.
Meanwhile, Samsung has disclosed the pricing for Samsung Galaxy Y Duos. The Samsung Galaxy Y was priced at Php 5,990 when it was first released. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos’ price or SRP is Php8,990. It’s obvious that the Galaxy Y Duos would be priced higher compared to Galaxy Y, because of the added features and improvements.
The price difference is Php3,000. The question now is if Samsung Galaxy Y Duos would be a value for money smartphone or would it be better if you settle for a mid level Android smartphone like Samsung Galaxy Ace plus or Samsung Galaxy W (Wonder).
I’m not sure, but I think Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is the first GALAXY smartphone to feature dual SIM functionality. Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is expected to be in our local stores by February 2012. I just hope that Samsung would send me one for review. ^_^
